Christina Riccio is a ceramics artist based in Buffalo, NY.
In early 2010, she began her artistic career as a Visual Arts and New Media major at SUNY Fredonia with a concentration in ceramics. As an undergraduate, Christina exhibited her work both on campus and in gallery spaces throughout the surrounding area.
After graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2014, Christina went on to study ceramics as a non-matriculated student at Buffalo State College. Throughout her studies, Christina was chosen to exhibit her ceramic pieces in numerous juried campus exhibitions, and was also awarded the Sylvia Rosen Award in the Spring of 2016.
In January of 2018, Christina was accepted into the post baccalaureate program for art education at Buffalo State College. While enrolled in the program, she was able to continue to explore ceramics, and utilized the space to develop and conceptualize her most recent body of work, Emotional Infection. Four pieces from the series were chosen to be exhibited in the Deans Gallery Invitational Exhibition, from January 2019 - December 2019. The full collection was displayed at her first solo exhibition at the Artspace Buffalo Gallery in June of 2019.
Christina is now working as an independent studio artist at Buffalo Clay Art Center, creating both sculptural and functional ceramic works. She is also currently a visiting ceramic artist in local k-12 schools, and a vendor at the Horsefeathers Artist Market.
